When a client comes to us for a remodel, the first question we ask is, "Do you have enough storage?" The answer is always "No!" As we begin the process of designing the new space, we visit the project to see how the space is currently functioning.
Clutter is a sign that something is not working in the floor plan; when there is no quick and easily accessible place to put an item away, it tends to stay out. But help is on the way!

We spend a good bit of time on the front end of a kitchen remodel:
- Where should the pots and pans go? How far away from the stove and oven?
- How close should the dish cabinet be to the dishwasher?
- Will the lid of the Keurig clear the under cabinet lighting?
- What would make this you dream kitchen? The pot filler so you don't have to cross the room to get water? The instant hot water for your cup of tea in the morning? A second oven? A place to lay out the ingredient's for your famous lasagna or to make memories baking with grandchildren at the holidays?
This client obviously needed storage, but they also needed a more functioning kitchen desk! Every family needs a place to pay the bills, sort the mail, and hide the ugly things that every home needs in order to function.
We also improved the lighting-- do you see how, even though the cabinets are darker, now the room is so much brighter and evenly lit? That's what a proper lighting plan will do for you!
